StreamView® Open Network Management System

PolarSat’s StreamView Open is a Network Management System (NMS) that provides a live dashboard for the entire VSAT system and interconnecting terrestrial network devices. The NMS provides displays of the network topology, individual station configurations and status, network configuration and control functions, alarm detection and response, and network management access control. It controls the VSAT Modem, RF, Multiplexer, and Routers though SNMP or optional serial port controls. The system is hosted on a Linux server and allows operators of various level access to screens shown below.

The StreamView® Open features an easy-to-use graphical user interface which displays a network level dashboard. This dashboard gives the operator real-time health status of the network at a glance. A series of lower level (views and screens) provide the operator with deep network health monitoring for drilling down into any and all of the network equipment elements. From this dashboard the operator can select Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) performance screens to check throughput and uptime, select Engineering screens to see the real time status of the equipment, view Alarm logs to see what issues have arisen and review configuration screens to see recent changes.

The StreamView engineering view supports a rack view of each earth station in the network by just clicking on the sites The StreamView operator can see what piece of equipment is in alarm since it is highlighted in red and then click on this equipment to bring up trouble shooting and configurations screens . The system displays the earth station alarm status for StreamView operator evaluation and action. The operator can generate hard copy reports of individual earth station displays, logs and summaries. In addition to the rack view there is a system block diagram view that shows the interconnection between the system elements as highlighted below
