News September 15, 2003 PolarSat Introduces Its Mini-hub, the Low-Cost, Scalable Addition to the FlexiDAMA Product Family Montreal, Quebec, Canada, September 15, 2003 – PolarSat is proud to introduce the Mini-Hub, its latest advancement in the FlexiDAMA family of SCPC/DAMA VSAT products. In response to market demands for low start-up costs, the Mini-Hub is designed to provide all the key features of a full FlexiDAMA Hub, but at a fraction of the price. Initially, the Mini-Hub operates in what is termed a FlexWeb application; whereby a shared TDM outbound IP traffic stream is sent to all nodes in the network (up to 2 Mbps) and individual remotes have variable rate (BOD) return channels using SCPC modems. The Mini-Hub is completely upgradeable to accommodate network expansion. “We are so convinced that the purchase of this mini-hub is the right first step for many of our customers, PolarSat will even buy back equipment that becomes surplus as a result of a network expansion”, states Marc Lupien, Executive Vice President, World Sales and Marketing of PolarSat.
