PolarSat Introduces Turbo Codes to SkyIP
Montreal, Quebec, Canada, March 23, 2005 – PolarSat
Inc. today announced the general availability of Turbo Codes into
its existing FlexiDAMA product line, featuring its flagship terminal,
SkyIP. Using state-of-the-art Turbo Product Codes, this further
enhances the product line’s ability to efficiently and reliably
route IP data over satellite. Combined with the FlexiDAMA’s
advanced Bandwidth on Demand (BoD) and DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple
Access) capabilities, this enhancement further strengthens FlexiDAMA’s
industry leading position for cost-effective satellite networking.
The addition of Turbo Codes encompasses the FlexiDAMA
Unit which is capable of full mesh networking and the SkyIP terminal
which provides an aggregated IP link from a remote station to a
central Hub or gateway station.
