The Sudanese ATC network consists of total of 12 remote sites and Air Traffic Control (ATC) master control station all connected in a full mesh all-IP based network. The VSAT network configured as a fully redundant network to the fiber optic network, provides backbone connectivity for VHF voice communications relay to cover the national airspace. The airspace is controlled by their fully redundant ATC master control VSAT station, located in Khartoum. Furthermore, the VSATPlus®3 provides geographic redundancy in transporting master control station traffic. In the event of a failure of the master control station the VSATPlus®3 system automatically provides connectivity to one of the 12 remote ATC sites. All sites will support a complex mix of voice and data communications including VHF Extended Range, Hot Lines, Radar, AMHS, ADS-B, metrological data, Intranet, Internet and general corporate internal communications.

SCAA is focused on improving air traffic services to cope with the great development in the aviation industry.
